THE LORD'S GARDEN

Last 11th of January 2014, I was given the privilege to join the ocular visit to Holiday Hills: The Laurels' Garden and Museum.
Ever since this photo was taken, I've called that place The Lord's Garden. The man who worked on this is none other than Mr. Salvador Laurel himself. It's not all greens for there are things you could do here aside from soul searching and self reflecting. Let's take a look!

THE MUSEUM

When we got there, the first thing we did was walk through the museum. Compare to other museums, Holiday Hills's museum is smaller but it is packed with memorabilia which are placed near each other to the point that it will overwhelm you. Looking at each item, you'll know how respectable Mr. Salvador "Doy" Laurel is. Now boys and girls, if you don't know who Mr. Doy Laurel is, don't fret for there are videos introducing not just Mr. Doy but his predecessors as well. You'll have to go there to see for yourself :)

THE GARDEN

We might have visited the museum but that wasn't the end of our visit. We went around the garden and, mind you, it's not just a flat lawn of green grass but we walked somewhat uphill and downhill. Through the course of that afternoon, we immersed ourselves in God's nature and allowed ourselves to relax and breathe fresh air.

You don't have to worry about getting tired because the place is equipped with benches and chairs where you can rest. You could even hold your meetings or company planning there.

PLANTS & POULTRY

With a huge space to fill, Holiday Hills reserved a portion of their land for poultry and growing edible plants. You might think that the poultry would make the place smelly but no, they are using organic food in feeding the pigs and the chickens which makes them not smell at all. They also have an orchidarium/ butterfly garden. Unfortunately, on the day of our visit it was on maintenance. That's why I have to go back so that I can see the orchids and the butterflies!

EVENTS PLACE

As what I've been saying in the other posts, Holiday Hills can also be a place where you can have your wedding held, a debut venue or a photoshoot venue. The place is so photogenic you can have your shoot anywhere! You don't have to worry about the sun because the air is cool!

DOY LAUREL'S STUDY

I was very lucky to be part of that ocular visit because our group was granted access to Mr. Salvador "Doy" Laurel's study! Originally, that room was in Makati (Laurel's residence). The Laurels think that the room was too precious to be sold to anyone. They had the room extracted from their Makati residence and transferred it to the Museum. Every piece you see in that room are used, touched and held by Salvador Laurel and his constituents. A lot of meetings were held in that room so yes, Ms. Cory Aquino have been in that room!

THE HOUSE

Ms. Celia Laurel have been very accommodating when we went there. She donated books to our school's library! We were also invited to their house. It's so grand you'll be greeted by one of the works of Guillermo Tolentino. In case you don't know, this house was seen in the movie "Diary ng Panget". If I'm not mistaken, it was owned by "Cross Sandford" in  the movie.

If this view have made you in awe, you have to go there now!
